Software I use
I do software mining on weekly basis. And I renew this recommendation list from time to time.
Development tools
-
RubyMine
Paid product with nice default plugins. Best ruby code suggestion.
-
Warp
Switched from iTerm2 for its GPT feature.
-
DevToys
Code format convertor, JWT En/Decoder, Regex, etc. etc. etc.
-
Fluor
A handy tool for macOS allowing you to switch Fn keys' mode based on active application.
Design
-
Figma
Never thought I would apply my CAD skills from college on to a web design tool.
-
PixcelSnap 2
A frontend dev must have: check spacing of design implementation right on screen.
-
ColorSlurp
Another frontend dev must have: pick color of design implementation right on screen, free.
Productivity
-
Arc
A Chromium based next gen web browser. My daily driver.
-
OmniFocus 3
My todo and planning App. I'm not good at Te. I count on this App to force me GTD.
-
Gestimer
Set timer by dragging a string from menu.
-
Notion
My knowledge base and my scratch board.
-
LaunchBar
Handy Spotlight replacement. Its Instant Send feature can send your text/file selection to Apps like OmniFocus, Downie or system utilities like Airdrop, Copy&Paste, all done in keyboard. I'm also evaluating Raycast, but not adopting without an Instant Send.
-
Magnet
Windows resize and alignment. Code editor on the left and browser on the right.
